  • Vinyl Pop Hits – There are two types of Vinyl Impressions shows that feature ‘Vinyl Pop’, firstly, Vinyl Pop and, secondly, Vinyl Pop Hits.  Vinyl Pop is exactly that but with tracks not necessarily being a chart hit, while Vinyl Pop Hits feature the biggest chart hits from across the decades
  • Mystery Year – So many stations love The Mystery Year Top 3s where, presenter Martyn Brown plays the top 3 singles and lets you try to remember which year the songs played are from.
  • Vinyl 1960s – Vinyl 1960s is usually the big pop hits from this decade but, sometimes, it features the rare tracks that have become collector’s items over the years.

Happy New Year

As we prepare to welcome the year 2021, it’s probably fair to say, that for most, 2020 has been more than a little tough.

However, we must take a few moments to think of the positive things that did happen.

We saw the kindness and generosity of so many people helping out those who were struggling. The community spirit that appeared. Shopping for others. Meeting neighbours. Clapping for carers. Endless generous donations to community funds and charity’s.

We must also surely take time to recognise those key workers that kept the country running. From the Bus drivers to the shop workers. Bin men to utility workers. Lorry drivers to the emergency services. The list is too great to mention them all. Our thanks must surely be expressed to them all.

Then there is the NHS. The biggest shout of gratitude must surely go out to the NHS and all those that make it such a world leading, caring organisation. It must surely have been the toughest and most challenging year for all the members of this most cherished British organisation. To all those NHS workers, we must say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

We are truly blessed in the UK to have the NHS.

WAW2020

World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2020

November 18th – 24th 2020 is World Antimicrobial Awareness week 2020.

Every year, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week aims to increase awareness of global antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers to stop the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections.

We heard from Annette From Nottingham University Hospitals Pharmacy today talking about why this is so important.

For advice about antibiotics you can ask your pharmacist, doctor or nurse.

Antibiotic research UK has a patient helpline to support those patients with antibiotic resistant infections.  If you want to be directed to some useful resources, or to be put in touch with other patients with a similar condition or for a friendly chat and support you can contact 07367784114 or you can email patient.support@antibioticresearch.org.uk

They also have a website which is; antibioticresearch.org.uk

If you have recently been discharged from hospital following treatment of an infection, we have patient information that can be given on discharge or you can look online at:  www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/infections/
